While Sadaqah benefits the person who receives it on one specific occasion, Sadaqah Jariyah continues to benefit the recipient(s) for years.
“When a person dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him.” (Sahih Muslim)
Sadaqah Jariyah is a continual act of generosity that benefits both the giver and the receiver for many years. It is one of the most beautiful forms of charity since it benefits both the giver and the receiver for many years. Sadaqah Jariyah literally translates to “constant, ongoing charity.”
