Appeal for Quran Donation: Empowering Children in Africa
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In the heart of Africa, countless children yearn to connect with Allah through His Holy Book, the Quran. They possess a deep love for its teachings and a fervent desire to memorize its verses. However, many of these eager young hearts face a significant barrier: they cannot afford to buy their own copies of the Quran. This is where we, as a community, can make a profound difference.
At Lillah Caring Charity Uganda, we believe that every child deserves access to the Quran. Recently, we donated 200 copies to TAQWA Islamic Primary School in Lukizi, as well as to various Muslim schools in the Luwero Muslim District. Yet, the need is still great. Many more children are waiting for the opportunity to learn, memorize, and embody the teachings of the Quran.
The Quran emphasizes the importance of reading and teaching its verses. Allah (SWT) says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:121): “Those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them, can expect a profit that will never perish.” This verse reminds us that supporting Quranic education not only benefits the learners but also brings immense rewards to the donors.
Furthermore, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best among you are those who have the best manners and character, and the best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari). By providing copies of the Quran, we are empowering these children to become the best versions of themselves—ambassadors of kindness, knowledge, and faith.
